  It seemed to me that I heard a noise.

  A ship appeared on the horizon.

• Prefixed perfective of казаться with по- (single instance of the impression). Class 6c, with з → ж mutation throughout the future (покажусь, покажешься, покажутся) and shifting c-stress. Two senses: impersonal 'it seems to X' (мне показалось) and 'to come into view'. Government: + Dat (to whom), + Inst (as what).
