About this verb#
- Class 3a semelfactive in -ну-, fixed stem stress on воскли- (unlike most -ну- semelfactives which are end-stressed). The non-suffixed imperfective восклицать belongs to class 1a. Almost exclusively used to introduce direct speech in narrative.
