About this verb#
- Prefixed perfective reflexive of держать with при- ('at, near, adhering'). Class 5b, shifting stress: придержусь (end-stressed 1sg) → придержишься, придержится, придержатся (stem-stressed). Government: + Gen (the principle/path/opinion). Far less common than the imperfective придерживаться, which is the everyday verb for 'adhere to'.
