About this verb#
- Delimitative perfective of irregular быть with the prefix по-; signals a bounded stretch of staying or being somewhere. Conjugates like быть (буду, будешь...) with stress shifted to the stem. Past tense follows the быть pattern with feminine ending-stress: побыла vs. побыли.
