About this verb#
- Class 8b consonant-stem verb on -чь, with the alternation -г- before consonant endings (остригу, остригут) and -ж- before vowel endings (острижёшь, острижёт). Past is a bare consonant stem остриг / остригла with stem-stress. Identical pattern to the unprefixed стричь.
