About this verb#
- Class 3a -ну- verb with fixed stem stress (гибну, гибнешь, гибнут). The past has the classic Class 3a alternation: long form гибнул/гибнула alongside the shorter гиб/гибла (the suffix -ну- optionally drops in the past). Aspect partner погибнуть.
