About this verb#
- Class 1a with fixed stem stress (замерзаю, замерзаешь, замерзают). Aspect partner замёрзнуть belongs to Class 3a with the -ну- suffix and a special past-tense rule: the -ну- drops in the masculine (замёрз), but the feminine/neuter/plural keep the stem vowel (замёрзла, замёрзло, замёрзли).
