About this verb#
- Class 3b semelfactive in -ну- with end-stress (вдохну, вдохнёшь). The imperfective вдыхать has the iterative -ы- of the prefix stem. Literal sense: inhale air, smoke, scent. Figurative: 'instil / breathe in', as in instil hope, courage, life into something or someone.
