About this verb#
- Perfective of сжимать, in the same irregular '-жать → -жм-' family as жать ('press'): the present-future stem inserts a vowel-less -жм- with а beta-vowel (сожму). Past is straightforward сжал / сжала, with the passive participle сжатый ('compressed') familiar from file formats.
