About this verb#
- Class 1a with fixed stem stress (сопровождаю, сопровождаешь, сопровождают). Aspect partner сопроводить (Class 4b) has end-stress and д → ж mutation in the я-form: сопровожу, сопроводишь. The жд in the imperfective stem reflects the same mutation, generalized.
