About this verb#
- Prefixed perfective of пытаться with по- (single complete attempt). Class 1a -аться with fixed stem stress (попытаюсь, попытаешься) inherited from the base. Always reflexive: there's no non-reflexive *попытать. Government: + inf ('try to do something').
