About this verb#
- Prefixed perfective of идти with под-. Present-future on -йд- (подойду, подойдёшь), past suppletive (подошёл, подошла). Spatial 'approach' takes к + dative, so does the figurative 'be suitable for': what suits whom is grammatically a 'going up to' it.
