About this verb#
- Class 4c, same paradigm as ходить, with под- prefix marking 'approach / suitability'. Shifting c-stress and д → ж mutation in the я-form (подхожу → подходишь). Polysemous: 'walk up to' (к + Dat) and 'suit / fit' (+ Dat). Pf подойти inherits идти's suppletive past.
