About this verb#
- Prefixed perfective from бежать ('run, flee') with из- ('out of, away from'). Class 5b, with mixed conjugation inherited from бежать: 1sg избегу and 3pl избегут (1st conjugation with г), but 2sg-2pl избежишь, избежит, избежим, избежите (2nd conjugation with ж). The mixed paradigm is an archaic relic. Government: + Gen ('avoid what').
