About this verb#
- Class 4a -ить, no consonant mutation (й stays in the stem), fixed stem stress on -ко- throughout. The reflexive counterpart успокоиться 'calm down (oneself)' is equally common. Imperfective успокаивать adds an iterative -ива- suffix and stress shift.
