About this verb#
- Reflexive Class 1a, fixed stem stress (умываюсь, умываешься…), with a long -ва- imperfective stem. Aspect partner умыться has a much shorter stem (умо-: умоюсь, умоешься). Means specifically 'wash one's face / hands'; for full body, use купаться.
