About this verb#
- Imperfective partner of уехать. Class 1a, fully regular, fixed end-stem stress on уезжа-. The -езж- cluster reflects an old yod-formation from the e-grade root jьd-/jьch-, parallel to ехать/ездить. Use уезжать for routine/repeated departures and ongoing 'leaving' actions; one-off completed departures call for уехать.
