About this verb#
- Class 4b -ить with regular в → вл mutation in 1sg (удивлю), end-stress in 1sg shifting to the stem from 2sg. The thing that surprises is expressed in the instrumental (удивить своим успехом). The passive past participle удивлённый is very productive.
