About this verb#
- Prefixed perfective of спорить with delimitative по- ('for a while'). Class 4a with fixed stem stress on -спо- (поспорю, поспоришь, поспорят). Two main senses: 1) 'argue about' (с + Inst), 2) 'bet' (на + Acc, what's at stake). The reciprocal nature makes с + Inst the canonical government.
