About this verb#
- Ingressive perfective of unidirectional плыть. Class 8b (consonant-stem -ыть): present-future on -плыв- (поплыву, поплывёшь, end-stressed). Past tense pattern: feminine end-stressed (поплыла), masculine and others stem-stressed. Pair contrast: поплыть = set off swimming; поплавать = swim around for a while.
