About this verb#
- Secondary imperfective of подвинуться. Class 1a -аться with stress on the prefix-stem syllable подви- (подвигаюсь, подвигаешься). This contrasts with двигаться ('to be in motion'), which is a separate verb. The double-aspect homograph подвигаться (impf, end-stressed) means 'to be advancing', not the form used here.
