  The boss tore into me in front of everyone.

  Don't yell at her for no reason; she's not to blame.

• Perfective of ругать with the totalising prefix об-, implying a complete bawling-out. Regular Class 1a with fixed suffix stress. Note the participle обруганный with stress retracted to the prefix.
